Paying Tuition

Jobs that reimburse Tuition:

(i.e. pay a certain amount for tuition after the semester is over on top of your salary)

United Parcel Services (UPS) – UPS has a number of positions that reimburse tuition. The exact amount of tuition reimbursed varies depending on the exact position and time of shift but does not reimburse less than $1000 per semester. There is a UPS with such a reimbursement program walking distance from York University, Keele Campus, at Jane and Steeles. To search for UPS jobs click here, Location: Canada/Ontario/Vaughan. When asked for a reference, please cite the name Jacob Amadei.

Home Depot – Home Depot has a slightly different tuition reimbursement program in the sense that instead of paying you a fixed amount, they pay 50% of whatever you paid for the year. To search for opportunities click here.

Tuition Reimbursement:

Available to all associates upon completion of 6 months of continuous service, the program offers 50% reimbursement, up to a maximum of $5,000 per year, for tuition, books, and registration fees for approved coursework at regionally accredited colleges, universities, and post-secondary technical schools

This reimbursement is only offered for courses taken to obtain a degree, diploma or to pursue the associate’s professional development.

  • Full-time and Part-time Hourly Associates: 0-3 years of service = $3,000
  • 3 + years of service = $5,000
  • Salaried Associates: $5,000

If you know of any other jobs that pay tuition, or even those that don’t but are at a convenient distance from York University, then please comment in the comments section.

I can vouch for the Home Depot one!
I’ve worked there for a year now, the reason why I tried applying was for the very same tuition reimbursement program; and I literally just recently had my application accepted.
The pro is that you get 50%, up to 3k, paid back! (Hello OSAP money)
The only con is that, from the day you receive the reimbursement, you have to stay with the company for 1 year. In addition, you will have to have been working for 6 months in order to apply, so I started working last June, which was enough that, 6 months later in december, (upon completion of your course) they accepted my application for Fall and Winter.
But suffice it to say, personally, this will help me a great deal, it may work for you as well.

DO NOTE, that, this program is for degrees and programs that relate back to home depot lol, so in my case, I am in Kinesiology + Psychology, both of which are acceptable, any business type course works as well. Essentially, as long as you can write about 2-3 lines on your application for how your degree will help you with Home Depot, your application will be accepted!
Best wishes and may Allah help you all with the financial burden of your tuitions, :)
